The Home Study is Almost Done!

The colder weather is here, and we are nearly done with our home study!

We've spent probably 50 or 60 hours pulling together and completing about the same number of documents, certificates, forms and statements. We've had psychological examinations that consisted of interviews and 500+ true/false personality tests. The whole family has had medical examinations, including checking for tuberculosis, which the kids did not enjoy!

As the home study is completed, we'll begin applying for grants to help fund the adoption. Once the home study is complete, we'll be able to register with CARINGS, which is the online database that the Indian government and orphanages use to share information about children and families in the adoption process. Once the Indian government agency (CARA) approves our online profile, we will be eligible to be matched with a referral! We originally thought we had to complete our dossier before we would be matched, so this is much sooner than we originally anticipated!

Thank you God for giving us the strength to complete the paperwork, for making the medical examinations with the kids go so well with Annville Family Medicine and for all of the wonderful help we've received from friends taking this adoption journey with us!
